Destiny Mayfield is the top award recipient of the 2021 Frank Crump, Jr. Next Generation Scholarship. Destiny was awarded $1000 towards her tuition at Alcorn State University where she plans to study biology/pre-med. Finishing in the top 10% of the 2021 graduating class at Warren Central High School, Destiny has an impressive resume of academic accomplishments and demonstrated leadership at school and in the community.

A summer program at Emory University helped Destiny discover her career ambition. "My passion is to become a doctor so that I can help my family and those in the African-American community," said Destiny. Looking ahead, Destiny acknowledges that her chosen field of study will be challenging and, she is committed to doing whatever is necessary to turn her dream into a reality.
