The Frank Crump, Jr. Educational Foundation is a 501 (c)3 public charity founded November 4, 2013 by the Crump family in Vicksburg, MS to honor the legacy of Mr. Frank Crump, Jr., Navy veteran, long-time educator and activist in the Vicksburg community.  Established and organized pursuant to the Mississippi non-profit corporation code, the foundation was determined exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.  In May 2014, funded by donations from the Crump family, five individual donors and one corporate donor, inaugural scholarships were awarded to five graduating seniors in the Vicksburg Warren School District.

MISSION

The Frank Crump, Jr. Educational Foundation was established to contribute to the educational and career advancement of future generations by awarding scholarships to graduating seniors with a record of academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, and dedication to community service.

With the cost of college tuition increasing more than twice the rate of inflation, private scholarships have become a major source of financial aid.  Over 60% of students graduate with student debt.  Despite the varied sources of aid, many students are left with significant unmet financial need.  Our goal is to help first-year students close the gap on unmet need and reduce student loan debt after graduation.
